On Monday morning, February 25th, eight Gibault seniors and six adults traveled to La Paz, Bolivia as part of the Gibault Catholic High School Senior Project. They worked at the mission of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ from Ruma. The group worked with the Aymara Indians in the poorest country of South America. They worked in the mission and in day care. Their work also included tutoring grade-school children, repairing homes, baking bread, serving meals, helping with health care and the handicapped. The students and their chaperones visited schools, joined the prayer communities and played soccer and baseball with the teenagers and bingo with the little ones. These fourteen travelers saw the faces of poverty and built a bond of friendship with them.
