Principal: Russ Hart

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Hart holds a B.S. degree in industrial education, a B.S. degree in science/ nursing and an M.S. degree in educational administration. He  has 13 years of teaching experience in five different states and was the principal of  St. Joseph/ Freeburg for 3 years before joining the Gibault community in 2004.   Mr. Hart and his wife, Diana, have two children, Brian and Brett.

The principal is primarily responsible for the quality of the instructional program, the suitability of the educational environment, and the existence of a truly Catholic spirit in the school. The principal's first concern is the development of the students; he is also charged with the selection and direction of the faculty and staff and their evaluation. He is accountable to the local and diocesan boards of education, to the Diocesan Office of Finances, to the State of Illinois according to the standards of recognition, and to the Bishop. Final decisions on disciplinary measures are his responsibility.

 

Dean of Students: David Gregson

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Gregson is the Dean of Students and also teaches Marketing. He has been a teacher and campus minister at Gibault and previously taught at Providence St. Mel in Chicago.  Mr. Gregson  is a graduate of Gibault and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a B.S. degree in business education and a Master's Degree in Theology. His extra-curricular duties include coaching softball and scheduling.   He and his wife, Lois, have two sons, Austin and JD.

Associate Principal for Student Development
Sister Elaine Freund
 

Sister Elaine –is the Associate Principal and also the Religion Chairperson. she received her A.B. in English from St. Louis University, and her M.A. in Humanities from the State University of New York in Buffalo. She is on the Academic Council and is also the Scholastic Bowl Coach.  Sr. Elaine has been teaching since 1972, at Gibault since 1982 and has been on the adjunct faculty of St. Louis University since 1986 teaching Advanced College Credit Composition and Literature.  Before coming to Gibault, she taught in Festus, MO, Ft. Dodge, IA, and O'Fallon, IL. Sister Elaine is a graduate of SS. Peter and Paul High School.


Director of College Planning & Placement:  
Susan Mackin
 
Mrs.  Mackin
helps develop, organize, and supervise the master schedule, student schedules, testing, accreditation, and college placement.  Before coming to Gibault, Mrs. Mackin was a teacher at St. Albert the Great, St. Mary, and St. Joseph.  Mrs. Mackin also served as the principal at St. Joseph School in Freeburg.  She attended Eastern Illinois University and SIU-Edwardsville respectively for her undergraduate and graduate coursework.  She obtained her teaching certificate at McKendree College.   Her extra-curricular duties include Peer Counselor.  She lives in Belleville with her husband and two children.


Director of Enrollment:
Pat Herzing


Mrs. Herzing
  teaches French II, III, & IV in addition to serving as Director of Enrollment. She graduated from the University of Illinois, where she majored in French and Math, with a B.S. in secondary education.  Before coming to Gibault in 2001, she taught one year at Paxton Community Jr. High, five years at Freeburg High School, and four years at St. Clare Elementary.  Mrs. Herzing is the Choral Director for the musical.

Athletic Director:
James Montgomery



Mr. Montgomery,
Social Studies Teacher and Athletic Director, attended Southeast Missouri State and SIU Edwardsville.  He has a B.S. degree in Business Administration and in Historical Studies. He joined the Gibault faculty  in 2005 and teaches World History, Illinois History, 20th Century American History and World Geography. His extra-curricular activities include traveling, reading, writing, exercise, and the culinary arts.  Mr. Montgomery and his wife Becky have two sons, Kody and Zachary.
Director of Development:
Sevgi Kovarik


 

 

 

 

 

Mrs.  Kovarik is the Director of Development.  She served as the school secretary/receptionist her first two years at Gibault.  Sev  grew up in St. Louis where she attended Villa Duchesne High School.  After graduation from Northwestern University in Evanston she worked  at A.G. Edwards & Sons as a mutual fund analyst.  Sev and her husband, Vern, live in Waterloo with their sons, Marty and Jeremy.

Administrative Assistant:
Becky Ramlose
  

Becky Ramlose is the new Administrative Assistant and previously served as Gibault's Learning Coordinator.  Mrs. Ramlose received her B.A. in Psychology from Pitzer College in Claremont, California. She received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University. She is a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She and her husband, Dan, have two daughters--Kate and Torie.
